Hùng Kings’ temple festival

Mar 10, 2020

Hanoi, Vietnam
31 March – 2 April 2020

The countrywide festival pays homage to the Hùng Vuong (the “brave kings”), the first emperors of the nation, to commemorate the origins of the Vietnamese nation. During this time, people make pilgrimages to temples, and enjoy elaborate processions, traditional performances and folk games. The festival is celebrated across the country, but the main ceremony takes place at Hùng Temple atop Nghia Linh Mountain just outside of Hanoi.
