Vienna International Airport has honored “Airline Award” to the most rapidly growing airlines at the flight hub in Vienna with THAI awarded “Best Performing Long Haul Airline” in 2018, featuring with the absolute passenger growth on long-haul routes contributing to the development of Vienna International Airport. For the very first time that Vienna International Airport surpassed the 27 million passengers threshold at Viennese flight hub from the underlying growth drivers of frequency increase within Europe and the expansion of long-haul flight services.
Mr. Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and COO of Vienna International Airport, personally presented the award to representative of THAI, Ms. Chonnakarn Akrapreedee, General Manager Austria and Eastern Europe.
The success of THAI with Vienna as the newest 13th destination in Europe since November 2017 is based on the focus of non-stop flight connection between Vienna and Bangkok focusing on Vienna as a gateway to Central and Eastern Europe and Bangkok as a gateway to Asia; Australia and New Zealand.
THAI is operating five non-stop flight frequencies per week between Vienna and Bangkok and vice versa on every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the new generation Boeing 787Dreamliner.
