Chatrium golf resort Soi Dao Chantaburi

This special golf review by Royal Orchid Holidays takes golf lovers to an all-in-one getaway for the family to the Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao in Chanthaburi Province, next to Khao Soi Dao National Park. Here, non-golfing family members can enjoy the facilities and outdoors while the golfer takes on the challenges of the 18-hole course.

The golf course is well laid out with different challenges on every hole; recently, golfers were treated to the sight of a herd of elephants taking a shortcut from one side of the national park to the other by way of the fairway. Fortunately golfers didn’t have to call “Fore!”

The course is mostly flat with small mounds and slopes along the fairways which are surrounded by captivating native trees, streams, and lakes. With the breathtaking view, it’s no surprise that from every tee and fairway shot, golfers tend to alternate between their clubs and smart devices for photo-taking.

Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao Chanthaburi’s signature hole is Hole 14, Par 3 with a 206-yard Blue Tee and a 159-yard Red Tee that carries the ball over creek, road, and lake.

In terms of course challenges, there’s a bit at each hole, whether it’s the unseen deep bunkers, rolling fairways, small streams and ponds, roughs and trees, or the trick-of-the-eye distances to the hole. Our group couldn’t recall a single major challenge, but it was the combination of the fairway, layout, terrain, green, streams, bunker depths and positions of each hole that made the round a wonderful challenge. And it made us want to replay that hole again, if not to beat our opponent then to beat the course.  One round is not enough.  Soi Dao is alluring, seducing golfers at every shot.

A Golf Journey with Royal Orchid Holidays

With Royal Orchid Holidays, golfers and non-golf family members can enjoy the holiday together and experience true family fun, either with our typical holiday plan or specially catered to your desire.  With your daily hectic work schedules and personal errands, a holiday with Royal Orchid Holidays can set you on your way to rejuvenation for the whole family.

Day 1

Morning – On the way to Soi Dao at Chantaburi Province, start the holiday with a preliminary round of morning golf at one of ROH’s preferred golf courses, while the family makes a trip to a local fresh market and some light sightseeing.

Afternoon – Your arrival at Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao in late afternoon brings you to the Chatrium Golf Resort overlooking the golf course, driving range and Soi Dao Mountain. You are now ready to acquaint yourself with the beauty of the hotel, taking the family for a spin on bicycles around the property or swimming in the stunning outdoor pool.

Day 2

Morning – A great way to start the morning round is with a full international Soi Dao breakfast on the terrace overlooking the 280-yard driving range and watching the sun rise.  Next, stretch your muscles with a warm-up practice on the driving range, approach shots, bunker shots and putting green. When you’re ready, then it’s off to the first tee for a momentous and scenic round of golf.

During the round, you will be pleasantly welcomed at the three aesthetically-designed kiosks at the 3rd, 6th, and 14th holes for refreshing snacks and cold drinks. The kiosks are a special place of their own, and positioned to cater to the hardy golfer.

Afternoon – Return to the clubhouse for a relaxing shower in the locker rooms, followed by afternoon lunch in the spacious and sunlit Soi Sao Restaurant for local and international dining.

Royal Orchid Holidays Recommendation – Before ending your day, if you’re up to it, rethink your golf shots earlier in the day; a great recap treatment would be a short bicycle trip around the property with the gang. Just take any one of the readily available bicycles parked at the clubhouse and follow the sunset along the scenic trail.

Day 3

Morning – Of course, after your first round at Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao course, you’re glad you planned for a second golf day here as you’ve had some thoughts on the shots played the day before.  Repeat your Day 2 morning routine to get ready for your second round of golf at Soi Dao.

Afternoon – Whether you’re heading back in the evening or late afternoon, you will need to refresh and unwind from the challenges of the course. Remember the memorable times you had while dining and relaxing at Soi Dao Restaurant in the clubhouse before your departure.
