Stepping inside the Erawan Museum is otherworldly; it is the height of a 14-storey building with over a hundred thousand copper sheets covering the whole structure.
The displays are divided into three sections, according to the belief that our world consists of three realms; the Underworld, the Earth, and Heaven. The Underworld section is dedicated to the history of the museum and many antique items are displayed.
The Earth section exhibits many antiquities and showcases their exquisite craftsmanship. In the last section, Heaven, Buddha relics and many Buddha images from various periods are enshrined.
